Keep control from the start
Smart limits on spending
From October 2025, all UK players must set a spend limit before adding funds for the first time. Many brands already offer this, and we strongly recommend using it.
- Choose a daily, weekly or monthly limit.
- Expect reductions to apply straight away.
- Allow time for increases to activate (often a 24-hour delay).
Short breaks & cool-off options
If you feel you need a pause, most licensed platforms let you lock your account for a set period. This is an easy way to step back and reset.
- A short break (for example 24 hours).
- Several days or weeks away.
- Longer fixed periods on some sites.
During this time you cannot log in or use your account. Once the chosen period ends, normal access can be restored according to the site’s rules.
Tracking your spend: profit & loss view
Many platforms provide a history or statement showing how much you have deposited, withdrawn and used over a selected time frame. Clear numbers make it easier to stay honest with yourself, adjust limits, or review habits early.
Reality check reminders
Time can pass quickly while using games. Reality check tools send a message after a chosen period (for example 20 minutes, one hour, or two hours). A quick reminder helps you keep gaming time in balance with the rest of your day.
When fun stops feeling like fun
- Spending more than you planned on a regular basis.
- Trying to recover losses by adding more funds.
- Hiding activity from family or friends.
- Feeling stressed, guilty or anxious about gaming.
- Putting games ahead of bills, work or relationships.
If this sounds familiar, you are not alone — and real help is available.
